Vision & Mission
Shivaji Library envisions serving as the intellectual heartbeat of Chhatrapati Shivaji College by empowering learners through equitable access to knowledge, cultivating scholarly inquiry, and preserving cultural heritage in accordance with the ideals of Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil.
Academic & Research Support
To actively support the educational, teaching, research, and extension programs of Chhatrapati Shivaji College.
Balanced Collection Development
To build and continually update a balanced collection of books, periodicals, reference works, and digital databases catering to undergraduate, postgraduate, and research needs.
Inculcate Reading Culture
To encourage reading habits and self-study culture among students, especially those from rural and economically weaker backgrounds.
ICT Automation & Modernization
To automate all library operations using cutting-edge library software (KOHA ILS, Barcoding, DSpace IR, Web-OPAC) for prompt and efficient service.
Seamless Digital Resource Access
To provide campus-wide and remote digital access to scholarly e-resources through INFLIBNET N-LIST, National Digital Library of India (NDLI), and open educational platforms.
Preservation of Heritage & Rare Texts
To preserve and digitize rare historical manuscripts, classical Sanskrit and Marathi literature, and the institutional archives of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha.
