About Shivaji Library (рд╢рд┐рд╡рд╛рдЬреА рдЧреНрд░рдВрдерд╛рд▓рдп)
Shivaji Library of Chhatrapati Shivaji College, Satara was established along with the inception of the college in June 1947 by the legendary educationist, philosopher, and social reformer Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. As the premier college of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, the library was named after the visionary Maratha Ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The library is centrally situated within the college campus in an independent building designated as 'Shivaji Granthalay'. The entire ground floor of this building is dedicated to Shivaji Library, and a significant portion of the first floor is also utilized to house the expanding collection, periodicals, study hall, and digital workstations.
Library Layout & Facilities
- Ground Floor: Circulation counter, Stack room, Reference books section, Text books section, OPAC search terminals, Librarian's cabin.
- First Floor: Spacious Reading Hall for students and staff, Periodical section, Bound journals archive, Newspaper reading stands.
- Digital Section: Dedicated computer terminals with internet connectivity for accessing INFLIBNET N-LIST, DSpace, and Koha OPAC.
- Digital Footfall Tracking: Automated Koha User Tracking system at the library entrance.

More DetailsThe Library Advisory Committee (LAC) advises the library on policy matters, collection development, budgeting, modern facilities, and student services. LAC facilitates transparent communication between the Head of Institute, department heads, faculty members, and the library staff to maintain subject balance.
